Transborder is a term used for a carrying system, where the trolley that is hung on the movable pulley is used for carriage across the obstruction. It is a certain modification of a cableway. Transborders are used throughout the centuries. Its most common locations are ports. In such locations it is necessary to keep the height of the construction, because of the capacious ships. Whereas gondola Transborder moves in the quay level to provide passengers‘ most comfortable journey. Prof. ing. arch. Mirko Baum from T.H. Aachen realized the T.B. on the river Niers in 2003. By this achievement he brought this traditional system back to todays people notice. His little scale made a beutiful exemplar, which is useful for citizens. In this realization we found our inspiration and projected similar mechanism for Chrastava – Andělská Hora, to replace preceding footbridge, which was destroyed during floods. In contrast to T.B. on the river Niers, which is whole made of metal, we constructed the T.B. using barked logs. This construction better corresponds with local scenery and at the same time keeps conformable static properties. Wooden variety economics is much more positive in comparison to the metal one. Contemplating ecological aspects, there is no doubt, that facts are on behalf of the wooden variety. Horizontal part of the Transborder is fixed and upon enough from the water-level. Vertical struts are in alignment, behind of stationary obstructions and it is possible to bend out the trolley (gondola) in an angle of 90°,so its position is above the water-level of the flooded river. Thanks to this, transborder becomes a vehicle with much better resistance of floods.
